We are an independent foster care charity providing safe and nurturing homes for children and young people. We aspire not to be the biggest provider but one of the best.
Our Board meets six times a year and each session equates to two hours of preparation and a two-hour meeting. You can join these meetings virtually if you prefer.
There are opportunities for Board members to attend training and to become more involved with the work of the Trust.
We make home to nurture children and young peoples’ potential.
The Difference You’ll Make
You will complement the range of skills and experience of our existing Board members. The most important quality that we are looking for is a genuine interest in supporting children and young people.
How Will You Do This?
You will have professional or personal knowledge of the issues that face looked after children and young people. We are particularly keen to receive applications from people who are care experienced or people who have one or more of the following skills:
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Legal (charity, company, H&S)
- Social Care sector experience
- Education experience
- Communications/ Media/PR / Digital / Marketing
- Volunteer support.
You will actively participate in Board discussions and use your skills and knowledge to contribute to decision making.
You will take on the challenge to shape the work of the Trust at the highest level.
How Will We Support You?
We will cover your travel expenses and any other expenses incurred as a result of being a Board member.
You will have access to relevant training and development opportunities as part of the CHT Community.
