Over the last 200 years Carolina House Trust has looked after and supported thousands of children. We receive a high volume of enquiries from people who themselves, or someone close to them has been looked after by the Trust. They are seeking information about their time with Carolina House Trust and many request further information about the background of the organisation.
Over the years varying stories have emerged about the history of the organisation, many of these stories are contradicting. We felt that our bicentenary year was an ideal opportunity to thoroughly research the rich history of this Dundee Institution and to tell the true story of Carolina House Trust.
We commissioned Wendy Glass, Freelance Journalist to research and write an easy to read, informative account of Carolina House Trust’s 200 year history. We are very pleased with the end result; we now have a good quality, hard backed book telling the true story of the first 200 years of Carolina House Trust (formerly Dundee Royal Orphan Institution).
The book is available to purchase for only £7.99 from the McManus Galleries gift shop or Waterstone’s Dundee.
