Carolina House Trust welcomes students from the University of Dundee’s Social Work and Community Learning and Development degree programmes. Kerri, a Community & Learning Development student, has just completed a 13-week placement with us. Kerri had the opportunity to join our Fostering & Continuing Care team and learn about the support work we offer. She worked with foster carers and young people on their wellbeing and delivered participation events.
Kerri left a note of goodbye before she left. Good luck with the rest of your course, Kerri!

I just wanted to say a big thank you and goodbye to all the young people, foster carers and staff for welcoming me into CHT as you did, it is very much appreciated and I am so grateful that you were all part of my journey. It feels like I was part of the CHT community for a lot longer than 13 weeks! I have so many happy memories of my time here but the ones that stand out the most are ALL the activities I did with the YP – yes I got beat at bowling! 🙂 I really enjoyed getting to know you all and I hope Santa is good to you when he comes. The YP’s faces after they had dunked for sour worms in squishy cream at the Halloween party is another favourite memory, I laughed and laughed! And of course the Christmas event, it was so nice to see everyone supporting each other on the ice and having some festive fun – well done!
My next placement has a lot to live up to!
I wish you all the best and hope you all have an amazing Christmas and New Year.
Kerri
