Carolina House Trust builds on Living Wage status with Living Hours Employer accreditation

Carolina House Trust is now an accredited Living Hours Employer. This means that relevant staff working for us are entitled to:

  • Decent notice periods for shifts, at least 4 weeks
  • A contract that reflects the hours you regularly work
  • A guaranteed minimum of  hours  of work per week

Our commitment to Living Hours builds upon our existing Living Wage accreditation to provide our staff with the security and stability of hours they need to meet their everyday needs. The standard has been developed to ensure people have predictable working patterns and income to better plan their lives.

We are one of the first employers to implement this new standard and become an accredited Living Hours Employer. You can find other organisations that provide their staff with Living Hours here: www.livingwage.org.uk/living-hours.

Our commitment to the wellbeing and welfare of our community is also demonstrated by meeting the conditions for

  • Disability Confident accreditation
  • Young Person’s Guarantee Employer
  • Dundee Carers Charter member
  • Volunteer Friendly Award

In September, we were named winners of the Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce People Pioneer Champions Award. This award recognises how we are building a culture at Carolina House Trust that ensures our staff and foster carers can support young people to reach their potential.
