Great Place to Work® UK! has recognised Carolina House Trust in two separate lists this month.
We have been recognised as one of the 2025 UK’s Best Workplaces in Healthcare™ AND one of the 2025 UK’s Best Workplaces in the Charity & Not-for-profit Sector™.
Our place on this list is driven by our employee engagement survey, measuring the extent to which everyone across Carolina House Trust feels about the culture we’ve developed collectively, making us a truly great workplace for all.

Highlights from our staff feedback included the community feel where employees’ families and carer families join each other at events, the Growth Mindset culture, the focus on wellbeing and the learning and development opportunities as reasons they love working for Carolina House Trust.
Â
The workplaces on the Healthcare list stand out for supporting their employees in thriving while making a profound impact on people’s lives, despite the sector’s demanding nature. The Charity & Not-for-Profit workplaces that are listed excel at connecting employees with the organisation’s mission and foster a deep sense of pride and purpose. We are listed alongside familiar household names such as mind, Siemens, Home Group and Institute of Directors.

This accreditation follows being named a Great Place to Work in November 2024, 9th in the Top 100 Small Organisations, 9th in the best Workplaces for Development list and 8th in the UK’s Best Companies for Wellbeing.
We are currently recruiting foster carers in East and Central Scotland to join their community and provide a child with a safe and nurturing home, ably supported by a team passionate about their personal and professional development.
About Great Place to Work
To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List, Great Place to Work reviewed company culture, benefits, approach to leadership and development, alongside anonymous responses from employees. They then used these data insights to benchmark the company’s employee value proposition against the culture employees actual experience. Only the businesses that achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces status.
