The CHT Community logged in to our Online AGM on Thursday 20th November 2025
The AGM is a public meeting of our Board of Trustees where the Board elects trustees, approves our annual accounts and audit report and presents an Annual Report of activity from the previous year.Â
You can now read our Annual Report and browse our Audited Accounts for April 2024 to March 2025.
The AGM is an important event on our calendar for official purposes, but it’s also a good opportunity to reflect on our achievements across 12 months.Â
Highlights discussed at the AGMÂ
Our Chairperson, Donald MacKenzie, opened the AGM with an address.
- Highlighting the depth and quality of coverage in the Annual Report and encouraging all participants to read it in full.
- Marking the sadness within the CHT Community at the passing of our trustee and friend, Eileen.
- Sharing his contrasting joy of the community gathering at the City Chambers for a Civic Reception with the Lord Provost to mark our 210th year. Donald shared his pride at announcing on the same evening that CHT had been recognised as one of the best organisations to work for in the UK in both the healthcare and charity sectors.
- Noting the continuing demand for Family Based Care that overwhelms the number of foster carers. Donald shared that CHT works in partnership with Scottish Government and other fostering providers to address the demand.
- Praising the quality of service provided by CHT, he praised the contribution of all parts of the CHT Community and thanked them all for meshing together so well.
Â
Introducing the Annual Report, our Chief Operating Officer shared some key messages:
- The high referral numbers we have seen are a result of a national issue with a lack of foster families coming forward.
- The publicity we receive for awards and our positive reputation is generating enquiries.
- We continue to embrace the culture of Growth Mindset, celebrating achievements and sharing learning opportunities. We are reaping rewards for being brave.
- We showcased our organisation confidently at conferences.
- At our Service Design Days our community generated their ideas for service priorities – a therapeutic service and tackling stigma.
- We conducted pilot training sessions, funded by the Mathew Trust, to build evidence that we can upskill children and family workers with the resources used for our foster carers.
